Springfield Innovation Center

08/23/2016

Two prominent Pioneer Valley companies, Valley Venture Mentors (VVM) and Paragus, enlisted SBA to create a masterplan for their future combined space, which includes a new innovation cafe and restaurant, roof-deck, and 4-story open office co-working space. VVM provides key support to the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Springfield and the greater Pioneer Valley by uniting carefully selected startups together with high quality business mentors.

Conceptually, a portion of the project is a colorful cafe and restaurant, owned and operated by Paragus, that connects by way of an open lobby and grand stair to the VVM event space, bringing natural light through the entire building with the stairs doubling as stadium seating during events. The open office area includes conference rooms, flexible seating and workstations, and a kitchenette.

SBA completed the design and construction of VVM’s current space in 2014. Mary Packard, Associate at VVM, had this to say about the swing space: “LOTS of positive feedback about the space, people love the colors and the ‘vibe’. I’m told it’s ‘young’ and ‘hip’! Kudos!”

SBA was awarded the renovations of VVM’s space, expected to be about 9,000 square feet of event and open office space with roof deck. The space will feature a large multi-purpose event space, open office & collaboration space, work bar, and roof deck.
