Steffian Bradley Architects: 2016 Highlights
2016 was a great year for Steffian Bradley Architects: there were architect valentines, impressive projects, thought leadership soared, wonderful new hires, and deserving promotions. We are taking a moment to look back at a successful year with a recap, while we look forward to tackling 2017 with zest!
SBA kicked off the year with exciting management changes based off the implementation of our five-year strategic plan. We named a new president of U.S. Operations, a new management structure for our Boston Office, and welcomed three new stockholders.
In February, we celebrated some punny love with our second edition of architect valentines.

Another exciting project that we completed in 2016 was the Baystate Medical Center Hospital of the Future Southwing Fitout & Inpatient Pharmacy Relocation. This project was delivered with integrated project delivery partners Baystate Health (Owner), Suffolk Construction Company (Construction Manager), Grodsky (Mechanical Contractor), Universal (Electrical Contractor), and Vanderweil (MEP Engineers). The IPD delivery allowed for over a million dollars in cost savings and an accelerated schedule, with the project completing early. Check out this video!
We completed a patient-centered new building addition and surgery center at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. The 87,000 SF project was designed with the concepts of lean medical planning, the rooms are identical in layout and equipment in order to reduce medical errors and to increase efficiency.
Another highlight was the completion of the Farr 8 inpatient floor renovation at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, MA, which was also designed utilizing lean medical planning and gaming techniques in order to create the best patient and staff centered healthcare environment.
In April, Science + Technology expert Jon Romig joined the firm to lead one of our emerging specialties. Since welcoming Jon on board we have won two Science + Technology focused jobs and are looking forward to continue growth in this sector in 2017!
