SBA Healthy Snack Program Provides 300 Meals for Greater Boston Food Bank

Did you know that one dollar can feed three meals to those in need?

Steffian Bradley Architects (SBA) launched a Healthy Choice Snack Initiative in February 2016 as a way to provide staff with an alternative to vending machine snacks and to raise money for people in need.

The self-sustaining program, which started with just one bag of clementine’s, works like this: every week there is a different assortment of healthy snacks, such as fresh fruit or granola bars, and employees put a dollar in the donation jar for each item they take.

A small amount of the proceeds goes towards sustaining the program, and the remainder is donated to the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB). Last year, GBFB distributed over 54 million pounds of nutritious food to over 500,000 people!

You can help us support the GBFB’s mission to “end hunger in eastern Massachusetts,” by visiting their website. And if your stomach is ever growling in our office, you can always pick up an apple at the healthy snack bar!
