Kirsten Waltz Elected to AIA Academy of Architecture for Health, Academy Board!

We are proud to announce Kirsten Waltz, SBA’s President of U.S. Operations, has been elected to the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health, Academy Board starting January 2018. The announcement was made at the 2017 Summer Leadership Summit in Chicago hosted by the American College of Healthcare Architect (ACHA) and the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH).

Kirsten brings over 18 years of programming, planning, project management, and design of healthcare experience to the other board members. Kirsten’s interest in healthcare architecture stems from her genuine desire to improve the patient and staff experiences and better their day-to-day lives. With project experience ranging from 5,000SF departmental renovations to 450,000SF new hospitals, she is able to address the smallest details while maintaining a broad overview of the entire project. Kirsten is especially interested in Evidence Based Design which uses credible research to inform the design process and achieve the best operational and functional outcomes for each project.  Kirsten also serves as one of the Vice Chairs of the Outpatient Group for the 2018 Healthcare Guidelines Revisions Committee for the Facility Guidelines Institute. She received her Masters of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Please join us in Congratulating Kirsten on this prestigious accomplishment!
